NGIN is a global membership organization that includes incubators, technology parks, research institutes, universities and corporations. It’s a matchmaker between customer and company, between investor and opportunity.
It assists members in locating, incubating, growing and expanding portfolio company solutions. It acquires mentors, advisors, coaches, and interim executives to assist entrepreneurial creativity.
It sources and secures funding for the network members and its portfolio of companies. It manages a network of strategic relationships that can be partners, sources of funding, or potential liquidity events. And, it creates a global ecosystem that accelerates impact technologies, faster, at lower risk of failure.
The Problem: The Innovation Gap
Today, world leaders acknowledge the threat of climate change and have committed billions of dollars to research new sustainable energy technologies. Much of this investment will be under-utilized because there is no mechanism that can efficiently get new technology solutions out of research labs into the market on a global basis.
This has created a global innovation gap between technology created in the research labs and the markets that desperately need its benefits today. This Innovation Gap is especially acute when looking at the problem from a global perspective. For instance, how will innovations created in the labs at the University of California at Berkeley or MIT find their way to markets in Sub Sahara Africa? Or Latin America? Or India?
Today’s answer is sporadically and very slowly. The harsh fact of our times is that we need to greatly speed this process if we are to slow climate change fast enough to prevent global calamity.

Bridging The “Innovation Gap”
The NGIN Mission
There is no coordinated, efficient, comprehensive way of bridging this Innovation Gap– it’s mostly ad hoc and poorly connected efforts. Incubators or innovation centers are generally regionally focused with sporadic connections to other parts of the world. Existing “networks” usually concentrate only on convening activities, not the practical business assistance programs needed by entrepreneurs.
NGIN will connect scientists, entrepreneurs and investors with customers, policy makers, and other ecosystem stakeholders in 40+ countries.
At its core, NGIN is a collaboration of entrepreneurs and other innovators driven by a common mission to slow climate change and build economic wealth at the same time. Globally. In real time. At scale. NGIN will reduce the friction that slows innovation flowing into markets that will embrace them and benefit from their adoption.
NGIN is already underway and has made significant progress in the last 24 months with supporters in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Germany, Italy, Finland, India, China, and Japan. We believe this is just a start – significant for sure – but we know that the road before us will be challenge.
The Network For Global Innovation
The Network for Global Innovation, created in 2013, is dedicated to building a global commercialization ecosystem focused on helping clean technology entrepreneurs collaborate and prosper no matter where they reside. NGIN has 20 members in Canada, China, Finland, Italy, Germany, India, Japan, Mexico and the U.S. Its members include premier innovation institutions and take a wide range of forms: incubators, accelerators, technology parks, venture capitalists, universities, non-profits and government agencies. All share a common commitment to sustainable technologies, assisting entrepreneurs, and connecting to the rest of the world.
NGIN is headquartered in Los Angeles at the La Kretz Innovation Campus
